The annual Legislative Forum offers members of the University community and area legislators the opportunity to hear from one another before the General Assembly convenes next month.

The University of Virginia will welcome Central Virginia lawmakers for its annual Legislative Forum on Friday at noon in the auditorium of the Albert and Shirley Small Special Collections Library. The event gives members of the University community a chance to hear from their representatives and offer their input before the General Assembly convenes in January.

U.Va. President Teresa A. Sullivan and the University’s Office of State Governmental Relations have invited state Sens. Creigh Deeds, Emmett Hanger and Bryce Reeves, and Dels. Rob Bell, Matt Fariss, Steve Landes and David Toscano to participate.

The legislators will offer opening remarks before taking questions and comments from the audience. The topics expected to be discussed include those that affect higher education and the Health System, along with other state and local community issues.
